Community HealthChoices

Do you feel confused and overwhelmed by changes related to health insurance? If you do, you are not alone. On October 16th, a group  organized by Jewish Residential Services and Jewish Family and Children’s Service met with professionals from the Pennsylvania Health Law Project and the Consumer Health Coalition to learn about how changes in the Affordable Care Act and Medicaid will affect people with disabilities.  In addition to Medicaid and ACA changes, the new Community HealthChoices was introduced. Feedback from the attendees was overwhelmingly positive and people remarked that they appreciated the “opportunity to get questions answered”.

Did you miss the program? Do you still have questions? The Pennsylvania Health Law Project has a toll-free helpline 1-800-274-3258; they are experts on Medicaid eligibility and the new Community HealthChoices. The Consumer Health Coalition’s helpline is 412-456-1877 and they can assist with applying for and navigating public health insurance programs (including the ACA/Obamacare and Medical Assistance).
