On Stage With Megan Hilty Supports JAA’s Free Care Fund
The Jewish Association on Aging is hosting its annual gala fundraiser, the Art of Aging: On Stage with Megan Hilty, on Monday, May 14, 2018, beginning at 6 PM, in downtown Pittsburgh’s August Wilson Center for African American Culture.
The event features this amazing star of Broadway, film, and television, a 2004 graduate of Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Drama. Megan’s career highlights include starring as Glinda in the Broadway sensation Wicked and as Ivy in the NBC-TV series Smash.
In 2016, she received a Tony Award nomination for her role in Noises Off and has been performing solo shows throughout the USA ever since.
Megan returns to Pittsburgh to delight the Art of Aging audience with a rare combination, the perfect balance of musical talent, range, sweetness, and sass. She will perform Broadway favorites and fresh interpretations of contemporary songwriters.
A Pittsburgh non-profit hosting a gala is not big news but the buzz generated by Megan’s appearance calls attention to one of JAA’s many services of which most Pittsburghers are unaware.
Proceeds from the performance benefit JAA’s Free Care Fund that annually provides more than $3 million in uncompensated care and services, or 10 percent of JAA’s budget, to seniors in the Pittsburgh community.
JAA’s Free Care Fund supports seniors who have a history with either a JAA nursing or personal care residence and ensures support to those who no longer have the ability to pay for their own care.
Awareness of, and monies raised by, JAA’s Free Care Fund help make On Stage with Megan Hilty a smash in every respect.
